Study in Italy as a non-Italian speaker?

Hi!

Wondering how it would be to study in Bologna without knowing any Italian in advance. The courses would be in English, but otherwise I would try to learn Italian.

If anyone has experience with this, would this be too stressful? Also, how is the university for a foreign student?

Hi Emmy,

The answer is yes - depending on what University you select. If they are offering and Erasmus Programme, then you can pretty much assume they will be conducting courses in English.

Find a list of Bologna Universities and look to see if they offer Erasmus.

Bologna is such a beautiful traditional Italian city. You will have a very authentic Italian experience.

I wouldn't worry about not knowing the local language - you will pick up the basics when you're there.

Just go for it!

Good Luck!
